Cats and Dogs

I know I've already weighed in on the Tiger Woods thing, but there is one more thing that bothered me over the weekend. Why don't people protest Tiger being allowed back into the PGA Tour like people protested Michael Vick being allowed back in? Why isn't there some sort of ethics committee in this country that won't stand for someone like this being in the limelight. He did wrong. He should not be allowed to play.

It makes just about as much sense as the Vick thing. Both had nothing to do with his sport. Both did not take the thoughts and considerations of others into account. In fact, there are many people (myself included) who believe that what Woods did was far worse than what Vick did. So why isn't there a committee that protests? Because nobody who actually cares about this type of thing cares enough to create a protest.

  1. So...are you saying he did wrong and he should not be allowed to play....or that Vick should be allowed and people were wrong to protest?

  2. I am saying that if there was a crowd of protesters for Michael Vick, there should be a crowd for Tiger Woods. Should they be allowed to play? That's up to the respective commissioners. But some stink should be made about Woods.

  3. Jugs, I share your opinion, but to the world what Tiger did was normal (understandably wrong, but a lot of people do it). While what Vick did was extremely bad in everyones eyes.

  4. YPGA - Maybe the difference is that Vick did something that hurt helpless animals who cannot defend themselves. while what Tiger did is really between him and his wife...and noone's business. I'm not justifying it, but I don't understand people's needs to see him punished.

  5. Mystery - Vick definatly deserved what was given to him (many should have been given more). Your point is valid, but in most peoples eyes Tiger didn't do anything that they wouldnt have done, so no one is making as big of a fuss as they did over Vick.

  6. What Vick did was illegal. Maybe that explains it.

  7. What woods did should be illegal.

  8. Yes. Vick went against the law. I'm not arguing which one is worse or which one deserves to be banned from the sport. I am just saying that there should be some sort of protest for Woods to be suspended from the sport, especially from those who believe hurting humans is worse than hurting animals. Why can't those people be as passionate as PETA?

  9. Because NO ONE is as passionate as PETA. They are insane and completely irrational. It has nothing to do with legal vs illegal. What Donte Stallworth did was illegal (killed someone while driving legally drunk) but did anyone protest? No, because nothing cute was hurt in the accident only ugly humans.
